“Energy flows where attention goes.” – Tony Robbins
Some people might be facing anxiety and a lot of news that is coming out might be influencing stress. Now it’s so important that we all take time for ourselves and to focus on positive thinking, as our mindset often affects our physical health and happiness. Here are a few tips for helping reduce stress during COVID-19.
Tip #1 take breaks from the internet It’s helpful to stay informed, but with so much information coming out every day it’s beneficial to take breaks from watching, reading, or listening to news stories, including social media.
Tip #2 Focus on things that bring you comfort By spending time on an activity that you enjoy you can improve your mental health and wellbeing. According to the Department of Health, people that participate in hobbies such as drawing or painting, are less likely to experience stress and depression. So make time to do something you like or maybe even try a new activity, this can make you feel happier and more relaxed. |
Tip #3 Try a breathing exercise or meditation
Tip #4 Stay connected while staying at home Connect with friends and family by Facetiming, talking on the phone, or through your social media. Talk with people you trust about your concerns and how you are feeling.
Tip #5 Replace fear with knowledge The Center for Disease Control, World Health Organization, and other information websites can provide you with a better understanding of the actual risk to yourself and people you care about; learning more about it can help it seem less intimidating. |
