As kids, we are all anti-line. In fact, you took pride in your art that didn’t respect any silly conventions like lines! As we grow older, unfortunately, we learn that we need to abide by certain rules (and all the other boring things like taxes and grocery shopping), but eventually, it comes time for a break. We need a breath of fresh air. A chance to draw outside the lines once again. 

For us here at Perma Blend, that looks like taking our pigments to the STREETS! We’re showcasing that our inks don’t just exist inside a studio – they exist in the real world! From fresh fruit to upholstery, there are exact pigment matches to all of our inks staring us right in the face… and we’re on the hunt!

One of the artists who has been doing a fantastic job of finding and matching our inks in the wild is Nikki Rice, aka @motherofblades on Instagram. Nikki is a Pro Team artist who specializes in nano brows and PMU, but she clearly has an eye for color matching.

​Next up she goes on the hunt for something a little tougher; a match for Illume, one of our fav golden shades. Her answer? SHE MATCHES IT WITH ACTUAL SHADES. We love the consistency.

Tina’s Gold Sunrise looks a little different in the bottle since it’s a slightly darker shade than Illume. To match it up, she finds something super earthy and muted, ultimately settling on some dried flowers.

For maybe the most luxurious find of the bunch, she decides that she is going to look for a match for the Espresso pigment. Instead of taking the easy way out (and using ACTUAL espresso), she decides that it’s time to pull out the Louis bag! Nothing wrong with a little flex 😉. Then, rapid-fire, she shows the Blackish Brown shade with another bag, then a final stop on Fiery Fuchsia, perfectly pairing it with a spicy book that has its own “heat”.

It’s hard to spot lookalikes in the wild, and Nikki did a FANTASTIC job!
